Water engineers career boost

The Institute of Water is offering a free professional review for water engineers to gain Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Engineering Technician (EngTech) status.

The fee, normally £168 is being waived until the end of June.

The Institute says that becoming registered is becoming an increasingly important career move, especially in the current economic climate. It can improve job security and job prospects and better salaries.

Institute of Water’s vice president engineering, Michael Fowle, said: “For the individual, recognition of achievements is particularly satisfying and in a market where many jobs are at risk, registration makes an individual more employable and again can be a differentiator.

“I have been a Chartered Engineer for 34 years and was one of the first to transfer my registration to the Institute of Water.

“Water engineering is an essential part of tackling climate change and thus the need for water engineers is as great as ever.”
